Report from Matt Verling on The Grafton Morrish Competition in 2015In only our second event as a Gordonians team, all three pairings struggled to get going in the difficult scratch stableford foursomes format. The field was extremely strong with the winning team coming in with a score of 103 points (the equivalent of +5 to par) for their three rounds… (I think we could have all played another 9 holes each and not surpassed them!) There were some positive signs though as we all finished strongly with good back 9’s and it certainly gives us some encouragement for the Queen Elizabeth in September. We will also be looking at our team prep going forward - a mixture of Weddings, Spring Meetings, and Birthdays followed by the 8am drive down to Royal Burgess (via The Horn) was likely a contributing factor in our lethargic starts! As always it’s a great event and a good day and we look forward to some redemption at the 2015 GM!Matt Verling
